#980 When The Perfect Song Comes On During Your Pity Party

You know exaaaactly what I’m talking about.  You’re driving.  Having a pity party about something, and the most sentimental song pops on to just really let your tear ducts have it.  You could have even already been on the path to feeling better and drying those cheeks, or maybe you hadn’t quite gotten to the point of full blown emotion yet, and then you hear a song.  One that hits home.  Boom, sob-fest.  And it’s funny because we feel like the magic radio God’s are feeling sympathy for us in that moment or something.  And maybe, for a split second, we feel like the radio is our only friend, which makes us cry harder.  Then 3:48 later, Salt N Pepa’s Push It comes on to dry those cheeks up again.  And maybe, hopefully make you laugh and start a little in the car dance party true “dancing in the rain style”.

#981 Shoes

They’re amazing.  All of them.  When I become a millionaire I am going to have the largest collection of boots, wedges, stilettos, and jcrew flip flops.  Shoes turn a blah outfit into a fabulous one in less than 5 seconds.  And they are definitely a guaranteed winner in the “retail therapy” department.  Shoes can put a smile on anyone’s face.  Just try saying the word, you can’t help but smile.

#982 Church Music

Seem funny?  Or bizarre?  Maybe.  But try listening to some good Church music if you haven’t in a while.  There is something so incredibly touching and so warming to the soul when hearing it.  It’s all written with only the best of intentions and sung with nothing but pure love.  I personally LOVE Agape and their Choir (Use Me is my favorite). Gorgeous and spiritually enlightening.

#983 Simpatico

sim·pa·ti·co
     -of like mind or temperament.
     -having attractive qualities; pleasing.
-likable and easy to get along with.
     -having shared attributes; compatible.
     -being on the same wavelength.

The word.  The definition.  The way it’s spelled and the way it sounds when you say it.  It’s even better when you experience it.

#984 Fresh Starts

Some call it a New Year’s Resolution.  Some like “starting on Monday”.  Others like the whole “it’s a new day” approach.  The bottom line is fresh starts are amazing and easily accessible and don’t have to just come on Monday’s or January 1st.  Try it now.  Turn over a new leaf every hour if you choose.  Invite new perspective in now.  This minute.  And make a fresh start.  Because you can do that any moment you choose.

“I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning…”

-Joseph Priestley
